What is Anxiety?
Anxiety is like that overprotective mate who has good intentions but has lost perspective on reality. They think they’re keeping you safe, but really, they’re just making life unnecessarily stressful. Imagine trying to relax, and this friend starts saying, “What if something goes wrong? Are you sure you did it right? I think you need to be concerned!” Stressful right?
At its core, anxiety is our brain’s built-in alarm system designed to keep us safe. But unfortunately, our anxiety doesn’t know the difference between actual danger and imagined fear. There are false alarms going off left, right and centre. So instead of keeping you safe from actual harm, it freaks out over work emails, social interactions, stepping outside the house or other random things.
