Understanding Burnout
Burnout is a state of complete exhaustion – mentally, physically and emotionally. Burnout happens when you push yourself beyond your limits repeatedly and without let-up. By time you’ve hit full-blown burnout, it’s likely been brewing for a while – months or even years in the making. An accumulation of too many late finishes, skipped lunch breaks, and too little annual leave. An increasing abandonment of your wellbeing needs to meet the needs of others, taking on more and more until breaking point.
